Dala ~ Burma

Dala is located on the Yangon River across from downtown Yangon, Burma. The town has twenty-nine villages. Dala is undeveloped and very rural because there isn’t a bridge to connect Dala to Yangon. The only way to get to Dala is by ferry. The ferry boat leaves every 20 minutes and can accommodate over 100 people. The boat ride is less than 10 minutes from pier to pier. Melaka Malaysia

Arriving here from beautiful pristine Singapore, I didn’t have high expectations. Melaka is a small city in Malaysia that is recognized by Unesco for the historical buildings left over by the Dutch. The spelling in Malaysia is Melaka but in other countries it’s Malacca.  Some of the buildings are over 500 years old. Most of the buildings have been restored and some have been painted a maroon color by the Malaysians from the stark white color the Dutch originally chose.Read more
